There are TWO days left until the Polar Dash 10K on New Years Day! I am excited because all of the races that Team Ortho holds award finishers medals and they are BEAUTIFUL!
It hasn't been too cold running outside lately. I feel prepared for the race and am not expecting a PR, but am aiming for a 9 min mile pace. The race day is supposed to be 5 degrees Fahrenheit, so I may break out the face mask.
I wear lipstick when I go running because it makes me feel a little more sane and of course, faster.
I love earmuffs!!
Breakfast bruschetta!
Whole wheat english muffin with a slice of cheese, topped with mushrooms and tomatoes with a sprinkling of Dill! I had a hard boiled egg on the side.
I have been using my new spice rack that the amazing folks over
at Pfaltzgraff sent me for free to try out and blog about!
Pfaltzgraff manufactures the MISTO olive oil sprayer that I love, but tons of amazing kitchenware, cookware and other home and kitchen items also!
The spice rack they sent is a Kamenstein 16 jar spice rack that revolves. It is made from durable hard plastic and each bottle has an opening at the top to shake or pour. It comes with 16 spices, but you can substitute your own!
Takes up little counter space!
They ALSO have an opening at the bottom that will automatically measure out 1/4 Teaspoon for you with just one turn of the base. I LOVE this feature!!
I give an A+ to the Pfaltzgraff people once again!
I had a bit of a late start this morning so lunch is easy, I threw together mini pizza's on whole wheat english muffins-I thought I had pitas-Doh! I sprayed the muffin with olive oil and topped it with yellow squash and green peppers, with a dash of cardamom-ZING! They were almost over done! I had a half grape fruit on the side.
Afternoon snacks were medjool dates and dried papaya spears!
And a bunch of Hershey kisses wrappers appeared on the kitchen counter, was it the cats? Hmm...doubt it, I munched on them a bit too mindlessly while working this afternoon.
At least they are small and will ALL go with me to the NYE party tomorrow. I swear, if it's a sweet and it's in my house, I have little control!
I treated myself to a Starbucks coffee and Kind bar, the Cranberry & Almond--SO good.
Dinner tonight will be a roasted chicken with mushrooms and sweet potatoes! I like to make big meals sometimes so I can have left overs and eat it through the week. I have some grand plans for my left over chick! My day has been a bit off schedule so it will be a late dinner. I will post juicy pics late tonight! Yay for Day 3 of food blogging! I am learning a lot about how I eat!
What is YOUR fave spice to use??

I am so envious you've been able to run outside up there. Down in Northfield, the Christmas blizzard turned to rain on Christmas Day, which turned the already-fallen snow on the street to slush, which wasn't plowed in time, and which froze into thick, rutted, glare ice that night. I have tried to run twice outside since then, and both times it took me an hour to go 4 miles, with much walking and several near-falls. It's just impossibly slippery; there is NO footing at all. Discouraging!
