Spice rack giveaway-CLOSED

I am so pleased with my roasted Chicken! Wee!

I sprinkled it with parsley and rosemary with a little evoo.
For my sides I roasted sweet potatoes and purple potatoes with pink grapefruit juice and curry, lightly sprayed with evoo also. Steamed spinach and...you guessed it...cheese!

I get too hungry for dinner at 8!

I am SOOO excited to say the cool folks over at Pfaltzgraff are offering to GIVEAWAY five of the spice racks that I blogged about earlier today!! What a great start to the new year--spice up your cooking.

I know that over the last week, it has been SO easy to add more spice to what I am making when, with the turn of the base, you can have a 1/4 Tsp. measured out!
The spice rack they sent is a Kamenstein 16 jar spice rack that revolves. It is made from durable hard plastic and each bottle has an opening at the top to shake or pour. It comes with 16 spices, but you can substitute your own.

Required entries 1 comment for each:
1) Leave a comment below telling me your favorite spice to cook with!
2) Visit the Pfaltzgraff site and let me know what other product you like.

Additional entries:
3) Become a follower of the blog OR let me know you already follow in a comment!
4) Link this contest back to your blog and leave a comment
5) Tweet about this contest using @fitthisgirl and leave a comment letting me know.
I will track the tweets!

That is 5 comments you can make and 5 chances to enter! There will be FIVE winners!!

This contest is open to those in the continentail US only. The giveaway is open until Friday January 8th, 2010 at 7pm Central time. The Winner will be selected by comment number using an amazing random generating number machine and announced on Monday January 11th.

Hmmm... my favorite spice to cook with is probably cardamom. I put it in my curries, my risottos, my baked goods, even my coffee. When I was living in Europe I fell in love with Indian food, and the smell of cardamom makes me so happy to this day!

♥N.Marie Powell said...

Okay, so is this how it works? Comment again?

Alright! So, the other product at Pfaltzgraff is the Vintage Floral Cake Stand...So pretty! I can just imagine some cute little tartlets served up on it.

PS- I'm a follower! I love reading about your workouts, I'm working on becoming a runner myself. Daunting, but worth it I think.

Yay-another contest and great giveaway!

My favorite spice is cinnamon. It's high in antioxidants, and we all know it's delish, too! But I am adventurous with spices and try pretty much all of them...currently playing with cardamom pods.

I <3 Pfaltzgraff! All the ladies in my family have Pfz dishes. My patterns include Filigree, Winterberry, and Grand Hotel (alas, a discontinued pattern). Oh and seven plates from the "design your own" series (also now discontinued). Pfz is a bit of an obsession, actually.

Thanks for the blog, Mary!

My favorite spice to cook with is Thyme. I used it for the Thanksgiving gravy, and sprinkled it in some fantastic Portobella Mushroom & Potato Soup this weekend.

L said...

From the Pfaltzgraff site, I like the Napoli Soup Tureen. My Portobello Mushroom & Potato Soup would look great in it!

Dani said...

I don't have one favorite spice - it truly depends on what Im cooking. I have had so much fun trying unexpected additions to dishes to change their flavors up (sage, curry powders, nutmeg. ginger, the list goes on!)

Dani said...

I love the Pfaltzgraff site :) I may be coveting the Pistoulet patterned pieces just a little

I've also been eying the small grater with attachable tray and the apple sectioner for awhile now. I need to stop putting it off and just get them both already ;-)

My fave spice is a mix -- herbes de provence. I can toss some on chicken and bake it and it tastes like I toiled for hours.

And I love the green prep bowls with covers -- I might have to order some of those.

PlazaJen said...

My favorite spice would have to be basil. I've always joked - "What do you call too much basil? PESTO!" I just love it & grow copious amounts in the summer.
I would have to pick the easy-clean stainless steel thermal travel mug from their site - I love that it's designed for the dishwasher! Thanks for the contest, I'm off to get more entries! :)

Cinnamon chicken, and cinnamon rolls,
Cinnamon really curls my toes.

I love to cook with it as much as I can,
In the kettle, or in the pan,
it makes the best Dapper Dan.

Cinnamon has been around since Biblical times,
It's really good sprinkled on Limes,

It goes in my coffee when the old clock chimes,
I have consumed cinnamon many times,

It is the best best spice all around,
No better spice can ever be found!!

Hi! I love curries, plus one can never have too many spices! I also love spice cake, so that takes in LOTS of spices - cinnamon, ginger, nutmet...

I also love the International® Silver Satin Danford Flatware Set, 20 Pc

I'm always short on spoons. I have no idea why, but I am.

I'm a follower of your blog.

What a difficult decision! My favorite spice to cook with is probably garlic, because I like that it gives off enough flavor to reduce the need for salt. And I adore Pfaltzgraff's tea rose completer set - the flowers make for a feminine touch without being too overpowering. Also, consider me a brand-new follower! :)

Without a doubt, garlic is my favorite spice. I love all things garlic!!!

Funny story - I don't have a sense of smell so I often forget about the smells that certain things give off. Well I love garlic so one night after work I took a jar of pickled garlic cloves out of the fridge and proceeded to eat clove after clove. It never even crossed my mind that later on the smell of garlic would be pouring out of my pores. A little later in the evening my husband came home and the second he walked in the door he said, "OH MY GOD!". I thought something was wrong so I went running to see what was the matter. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "Honey - let me just say that we aren't going to have to worry about any vampires getting us!!!" :-) He said I smelled like garlic for the next three days. Oops!
