Fit this Fashion: Thrift finds

So, the SAME day that I rode to the gym using the Greenway and blogged about wanting clip shoes (among other things for better biking and better butt feeling!) I found a pair of Shimano bike shoes at my local thrift store. They were FOUR dollars and retail for $60.00 plus! THAT is my kind of deal. 

I just need to get the hardware for them, I am taking my bike to the local shop to see if what I need to make them work with my bike: 

At the same thriftstore, I purchased my first Lululemon article. I know, it's second hand, but it is a beautiful tank with that adorable little "A" in the back. It was $3.50 and is like NEW!

The lululemon name was chosen in a survey of 100 people from a list of 20 brand names and 20 logos. The logo is actually a stylized "A" that was made for the first letter in the name "athletically hip", a name which failed to make the grade. 

The inside is GREEN! I love it. I wore it the whole next day! 

The day was full of joy and blessings! There's seemed to be a lot of that since I took my big leap of faith and went after a new career! I like joy, I like being surprised with little things that matter.
  I decided to make a green monster to match my new top. 

2 Cups Spinach
1 banana
1 Tbsp Cashew butter
1 Cup Almond MILK!! 
For a tropical feel, a handful of coconut! 

I felt like I was in the south pacific! Well, not really, but it was SO good. 

Messy hair and all from working out. 

Do you buy second hand? What has been the BEST find ever? I have found some of my best since my leap of faith!

that is a huge steal on those shoes! So cool! I have been meaning to check out the thrift stores... I see people finding some really cool deals every once and a while!

FYI -- your recipe includes 1 CUP of almond butter. As much as I like my AB, is it supposed to be 1 Tablespoon? ;)

HA!! Yes, one cup almond MILK!! ICK, can you imagine a smoothie with a cup of almond butter!! Pass me a spoon! I am taking the shoes to a bike shop today to see what I need!! Happy Friday!

I really enjoy your blog! You are very inspiring. I have never been into "exercising", but I have always walked and hiked for fun. Since I have had 3 kids, I have put on some weight. What is a good way to start running for someone who has never really jogged before?

Hi Music Mom!!
Here are 2 links to check out. The first is just 5 ways to start up. Go slow, take it at your own pace. Try the run walk method, run for 1 min walk for 1 min, then change it up, work on running for 2 walking for 1 etc.

Please also, get good running shoes so you don't get injured!

Anyone can run, you just have to practice and it doesn't matter how slow or fast we are, if you are out there putting one foot in front of the other, your a runner!

$4 for cycle shoes? That's AMAZING!!! I'm still not sold on the "green monster" shakes, but SO MANY people I know swear by them! So happy that your career choices continue to bless you - you deserve to be happy!!! :)
