I'm a pilates convert

I think I am a fan of pilates! Granted, it is a mat class at my YMCA, but it is one hour long and very challenging! That is the reason that I never really did pilates in the past-- I knew how challenging it was, so I would shy away!!

What a sad's true though, I have in the past not wanted to try "hard" things or challenge myself. Well I am quickly finding that the challenge is what I CRAVE!!

Ready to start one hour of pilates at the gym! Here we go!

Don't play me socks are ESSENTIAL to get through Pilates...

Pilates focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine. In particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and aim to strengthen the deep torso muscles.

Jenna was such a trooper to replace a would be frigid run with mat pilates!

Strengthening our core and increasing flexibility in our low backs, spine and overall body is essential to feel our best and prevent injury! I am so happy to be able to add pilates to my repertoire of group fitness classes that I love!

Do you do pilates and do you find it helps in your other training?
