New Years Charities Challenge

How is your 2011 so far?

Mine has been good! I spent Saturday finishing my big knitting project, and Sunday I spent volunteering at the Charities Challenge indoor track races! It was a total blast and I FINALLY got to meet Steve from Steve in a Speedo, he's a local endurance athlete, blogger and awesome guy! His wife (Pharmie is her nickname) was there too taking pics and she's a marathoner, tons of fun to talk to! Steve rocked the 5000M race!!

NEXT event: January 16, 2011
Charities Challenge’s 5th Annual -

“Icy Winter’s Not Isolating Me”!
Challenge Isolation Indoor Track Races @ Concordia University Recreation Ctr's Indoor 200m Track
They will be racing:  3000m, 60m, Mile, 200m, 800m, 3000m and a Race Walk 400m.
I will be there volunteering and trying my hand at the indoor mile. Wish me luck, I will need it!!

Speedy dudes on the indoor track!

I really appreciate Charities Challenge for promoting wellness of all kinds through exercise. For instance the event I was at on the 2nd was called Celebrating Resolution Success. The upcoming one is called Challenge Isolation: Icy winter's not isolating me!

We run and race with Charities Challenge to break out from fear, isolation, disease and challenge ourselves to be hopeful, loving and committed to our own health and the wellness of those around us.

What is a race in your area that advocates for a great cause or causes like Charities Challenge??
Have you done any indoor races? They are an awesome idea considering the weather here now...
