All hail Perfect Protein!

Today was a good day.

I got a run in, I ate a great salad, I had a lot of water, I worked with clients and I committed to a few things.
I ran a nice easy 5 miles and on the way back decided I was going to do one full block of walking lunges. It seemed like a great idea, it was a great idea, but it was SUPER challenging. I love a good challenge and what made it better was that there were 3 mothers with strollers at the end of the block watching me! Such pressure to go all the way. It was great, I did it and I am glad.

I came home and had a great salad:
Steak, spinach, yellow heirloom tomato and 2 spoonfuls of a protein salad from my local coop: wheat berries, feta, carrots, cucumbers...just all kinds of goodness. It was a great post race meal.


Minneapolis had a crazy weather last night! Tornado's and hail! These are some pictures that my friend Adam took of the hail at his house in Uptown! They were golf ball size and I rode the last 2 blocks home from work in them on my bike and didnt' get hit! That's a blessing!


Committing to something

I like the word committed. I like the idea of being committed to something. 
I don't want to just DO things in life, I want to be committed to things in life. Once we decide we want to do something, that its worth our time and attention, why NOT decide to commit to it. 

I am not going to just workout, I printed off workout logs and am going to workout everyday in some way! I am committed to some serious time in the gym and I am committed to being fit. Instead of saying I am going to work out, I am going to say I am committed to it. Which means I won't give up, I won't back down on a bad day, which means I am going to do it when I don't want to, when I want to, when the day is busy, when I have free time, when others don't want me to, when others think I am foolish. I am committed to it for me, for my future. 

I am not just going to eat cleaner, I am committed to putting healthy things in my body everyday whether I am craving sweets or not. I am committed to fueling the way I should and I am committed to perpetuating health and not illness. I am going to commit to a shopping time, a prepping time, to cooking and to eating meals I am planning. I am committed to it for my health, for my healthy weight and to practice and exemplify a consistent life for my clients. 

I am not just going to go to church every week. I am going to pick a single church (which I already did) and go every week, to get involved, meet others. I have been giving to this church for a while now and I don't want to be church hopping. There is no reason for that and it's the opposite of committed. I had been going to a few places, but I have picked this one and starting this week, will be an active attendee! I am committed to going when the weather is bad, when I have been out late, when I am tired and don't feel like it. I am going to go to church when I am sad, when I am happy, when I feel loved and when I don't. I am committed to going and giving back. Period!
