About Me

I am personal trainer, coach, figure competitor and woman of faith! With a BA in English behind me, the passion before me is helping people better their body, soul, and spirit!

My health journey includes losing 40 pounds and keeping it off for over six years, becoming a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, ditching all my unhealthy habits, being a 2x marathoner and training for my first figure shows of 2012!

I will tell you that the biggest obstacle I faced was myself: “Embracing sobriety, weight loss and clean eating was a walk in the park compared to rebuilding the shattered view of self that landed me at rock bottom in the first place. But I can do all things through Christ who is my strength, apart from that I am just another girl in the gym.”

Here at Fit this, girl! I write about my weight loss, motivation for YOU, tips on clean eating, running, lifting weights, and other holistic wellness musings that REAL people are interested in as well as my own journey to being a figure competitor and all that entails!

In the past I have worked in marketing, publishing, owned my own bookstore, and written book reviews and personal essays for national and Minnesota publications. I am a retired Minnestoa Roller Girl and skated under the moniker Mary Tyler Roar.
